Is day 2 and day 8 Covid testing mandatory after returning to England?
It is compulsory to book and pay for Covid testing to be taken on or before day 2 and on or after day 8 of your quarantine if you are returning from an amber list country. If you are returning from a green list country, you must book a day 2 test. If you passed through or visited a country on the red list 10 days before arriving in England, please follow the UK government guidance.
When will my kits be delivered?
Your day 2 and day 8 tests will be delivered next day for orders before 2pm Monday to Friday via DPD. You’ll receive a one-hour delivery window by SMS and email. We can only dispatch your kits Monday to Friday. If your kit is due to arrive on Sunday, you will receive your kit on Tuesday. Please order prior to travel to ensure your test arrives on time.
What is a Covid-19 PCR test?
Covid-19 PCR test looks for the presence of the Covid-19 virus on a sample taken from your nose and throat; collected using a long cotton bud. 123tests.co.uk has partnered with a world-class UK Government-listed UKAS applicant laboratory to provide this testing to ensure fast and accurate results. Our Covid-19 PCR test has a sensitivity of 98% and specificity of 100% when performed correctly.
How will I return my sample?
We’ll send your test kits with free delivery to your home. Once you’ve received your swab samples, you can use a pre-paid returns label to send your tests back to our lab via a Royal Mail Priority Postbox.
What are the possible results of my Covid-19 throat swab?
Negative You do not have any evidence of an active infection. Positive The Covid-19 virus has been detected on your swab. You will not be able to travel or reduce your quarantine time and we will inform NHS Public Health about your positive result. Inconclusive/Needs Repeated Very infrequently, your swab result will need to be repeated. This may occur due to poor sample taking technique. If your result is inconclusive, we will offer you a replacement test.
